Simmons Maternity Sneak

This lovely little couple is some of our friends...Dane and Jen Simmons. They are expecting LaJae in a little under 2 weeks now. I am still sorting through all the photos we took. Jen does photography also so she was great to let me play around while we were dying in the hot sun. I can't wait to have time to get to the rest of these, and even more I can't wait to meet their new addition. Love these guys and I love that they are sooo happy!!

Family Reunion

A lady from my ward called me and asked me to come shoot their family reunion....super nerve racking! It turned out pretty well though. They had quite the group. I mainly took Nedra's immediate family...they had 8 children! It was pretty amazing to see the generations of this family...and they were great to work with!

English Horse Show

I was asked by a photographer here in Pinedale to cover the English Horse Show for the Sublette County Fair while she shot a wedding. It was interesting to watch, I have never seen a horse show. Very different from the high speed pace of barrel racing and rodeo. The ages spanned from little tykes to adults. It is always amazing to me the power of a horse, they truly are magnificent animals!

Oram Kiddos

We were able to have one of Eric's brothers and his family for a visit. While they were here we did a little impromptu photo shoot. Their little girlies are so cute! Sage, their newest addition is the smiliest baby I have ever seen. Eve is a super curious little 2 year old who can not be tricked in to sitting still for a photo. We loved having them here...I mean who wouldn't-aren't they the cutest??

Mara's 2nd Birthday

This little cutie is my spirited niece Mara who is turning 2 next month! I told her mama I would make her invites and I love how they turned out!! They are going with a hot air balloon theme and this picture is from a kids book. So fun! I cannot believe that she is already 2!

Hoskins Family Summer 2010

This is my sisters family and the great thing about shooting them is I get to be as creative as I want both with shooting and with editing...she's a great sister and indulges me! The bummer about this shoot is I should've switched up lenses, but that's the glory of learning a new system-sometimes you flop! I have thrown myself in to photography head first with no instructions, so it's only natural to crash sometimes...I like what a friend just told me (he does construction and was up helping us with concrete), "I don't judge others peoples work anymore because who knew what they were up against when they were doing it. Was is a lack of skills that made the job look bad, or something outside of their control. Because I never know-I never judge." Great call Seth...this shoot was user error completely, but that's the beauty of learning-it should never stop. I am reading constantly on how to improve my photography skills...and honestly-some shoots are better than others for myself and most other photographers out there...thank goodness I have a patient sister who is willing to let me figure things out while they sit in the hot sun! Love you guys and I hope you enjoy!!

Hey There Delilah

Seriously could this family be any more perfect?? My sister told me about a year ago that she had a friend who wanted photos and I am soooo glad we finally got them done! Delilah called me and wanted to know about what I thought about using an old couch-ummm, yes!!! I have been wanting to do this shoot forever-period! The only drawback-by the time we got to the field, got the couch set up, and the family ready-our cloud cover had gone!! Super bummer, but even though is was amazingly hot-we had a great time. Their kiddos are adorable and were soooo good! Thanks Delilah-I hope you love these as much as I do!
